Do you provide information, guidance or advice to members of the public about independent living?
As part of its commitment to social responsibility, TACT (Trusted Assessing and Care Training) is funding free places on its accredited Trusted Advisor programme to help organisations strengthen the support they provide to people seeking advice on independent living, home adaptations and equipment.
On Tuesday 10th November in Derby, TACT will deliver a one-day Level 2 accredited Trusted Advisor course designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and confidence to provide impartial advice on home adaptations and independent living solutions.
Learners will gain an understanding of common health conditions, the types of equipment and adaptations that can help people remain independent at home, how health and social care services are organised, and effective communication techniques for supporting individuals and signposting them to appropriate services.
Up to two fully funded places are available per organisation. Participants will attend a one-day, face-to-face course delivered by one of TACT’s Occupational Therapy trainers, followed by a short home-based assignment to achieve accreditation.
TACT is an accredited training provider specialising in education and support programmes focused on housing adaptations, accessibility and independent living.
The course will be hosted by Gordon Ellis & Co at its UK headquarters in Castle Donington. Gordon Ellis is a leading provider of healthcare solutions with a long-standing commitment to promoting training, education and impartial advice that improves outcomes for individuals and communities.
The programme is suitable for professionals working in organisations that provide housing, health or adaptations advice to the public, including local authority housing, health and social care teams, voluntary and community organisations, social prescribers, care providers and housing associations.
Trusted Advisors play an important role in helping people access support more quickly by directing them to local services and advising on the types of adaptations available for common conditions. By increasing awareness and knowledge within frontline organisations, the programme can help reduce waiting times and improve access to essential equipment and home adaptations.
