Trusted Assessor Training Programme

Our Trusted Assessor training equips staff with the knowledge, skills and confidence to assess people’s needs and identify practical solutions that enable them to live safely and independently at home.

The training promotes a strength-based approach, helping Trusted Assessors understand how health and wellbeing can affect everyday life and identify appropriate equipment, adaptations and support. It also helps organisations develop a consistent, effective approach to assessment, enabling quicker access to the right solutions while making the best use of available resources.

Trusted Assessor training helps ensure people receive the right support at the right time, promoting greater independence and safety at home while supporting families and making effective use of service resources.

Trusted Assessor: Assessing and Adapting the Home (Level 4)

Disabled Facilities Grants can transform people’s lives and enable independent living whilst reducing risk, but there can be lengthy delays in the process due to waiting lists. Courses for Professionals

Our suite of professional courses supports clinicians, including Occupational Therapists, to refresh and strengthen their knowledge across a range of topics, from equipment and adaptations to practical approaches for promoting independence.

Each course provides an opportunity to revisit key principles, share experiences and explore current best practice. Our sessions are practical, engaging and focused on applying learning to everyday practice, helping professionals feel confident in prescribing effective solutions and interventions.

These courses are ideal for practitioners starting a new role, expanding their responsibilities or supporting a wider range of interventions within their current role. They also provide an opportunity to update existing skills, reflect on current practice and enhance professional confidence.

Reablement

This bespoke qualification has been designed for those working within Occupational Therapy, to build confidence, consistency and continuity of service when delivering reablement interventions. Learners will refresh and increase knowledge around theories and best practice within reablement, and practice practical skills to support interventions for people receiving a reablement service.

Equipment for OT

Many Occupational Therapists (OTs) working outside community equipment or housing services have had limited opportunity to develop practical skills in assessing for equipment and minor home adaptations. Yet increasing pressures across health and social care mean practitioners are often expected to take a more holistic view of a person’s daily living needs. Being able to recognise functional difficulties, identify practical solutions and safely recommend appropriate equipment is therefore becoming an essential part of modern occupational therapy practice.
